Bibimbap (Nasi campur Korea)

I’m so delighted to share this recipe because bukan selalu nak buat other than malay food. I am a big fan of Korean food! Hands up in the air if you are too!

Bibimbap literally means mixed rice. Basically you put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it prior to eating. Dia macam nasi goreng tapi tanpa goreng. This dish is best served in hot stone pot, which is called Dolsot. But.. but…. don’t go away just yet because you still can savor this dish without that authentic bowl. One of the reasons they use hot stone pot is to keep the meals hot longer and of course you'll get to indulge the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot. It may look simple but, you can't believe how good this is. It's like an explosion of flavors in your mouth. 

I bought most of the ingredients from an Asian Market around here. Now let’s get to the cooking part. 

Bahan-bahan (2 sevings)

1 cawan beras sushi 
1 1/2  cawan air 
2 biji telur 
½ batang timun *potong julienne
1/2 batang terung *potong nipis 

Toppings:

Bayam 
1 genggam bayam
1 sudu kecil bawang putih cincang
2 sudu sesame oil 
2 sudu kecil kicap masin
Gula secukup rasa

Tauge
1 mangkuk tauge 
2 sudu kecil bawang putih cincang
2 sudu sesame oil 
1 sudu kecil kicap masin
Gula secukup rasa

Lobak merah 
½ batang carrot potong julienne
1 sudu kecil minyak masak 
½ sudu sesame oil
Garam secukup rasa

Daging
½ cawan daging (boleh cincang ataupun potong nipis)
1 sudu bawang putih cincang 
1 sudu kecil kicap manis
1 sudu kecil sesame oil
1 sudu minyak masak 
1 sudu kecil black pepper

Sos Bibimbap
2 sudu besar gochujang 
2 sudu kecil sesame oil
¼  sudu kecil cuka makan 
3 sudu kecil air 
1 sudu kecil bawang putih cincang
1 sudu kecil gula 

Cara-cara

Nasi & Telur
1. Masak nasi menggunakan sukatan yang diberi.
2. Goreng telur sunny side up. Biarkan egg yolk tu runny sikit. Kalau tak suka boleh masak sepenuhnya. 

Bayam dan tauge
1. Celurkan bayam sehingga layu. Setelah layu, rendam dalam air sejuk untuk hentikan cooking process. 
2. Toskan air dan perahkan lebihan air dari bayam. 
3. Campurkan bayam, bawang putih, sesame oil, gula, dan kicap masin. Gaul sehingga sebati. 

**Ulang step yang sama untuk prepare tauge. 

Setelah siap boleh set aside ataupun simpan dalam fridge. 



Carrot
1. Panaskan minyak di atas pan. Masukkan sesame oil, carrot, dan garam. Kacau sehingga carrot lembut. 



Daging dan terung
1. Guna pan yang sama selepas masak carrot, masak daging atas high heat for 8 minutes. Set aside daging. Biarkan air from daging di atas pan. 
2. Masukkan terung dan masak sehingga layu. 





Sos bibimbap
1. Campurkan semua bahan untuk sos bibimbap. Kacau sehingga sebati. 




When you have all the ingredients ready, put all the toppings on top of the fluffy rice. You can arrange all the veggies up to your preferences. That is the most awaited part of making bibimbap! Dressing up your bowl and getting ready for a picture! Oh, don't forget to drizzle some sesame oil before savoring it. Now, just mix everything and indulge. 

As for me, bibimbap is fun to make with friends. It will make a perfect weekend night meal to enjoy with your loved ones. You can cook things together and can eat the product in the end.
